Add a Custom Domain

If you want to configure a custom domain name for your Stellate service to use instead of the default <servicename>.stellate.sh, you can do so in the Custom Domain settings on your service dashboard. Head over to your service, then select Settings in the main navigation, and select Custom Domain.

Adding a custom domain to the Stellate service

Once you have the service name configured on Stellate, you will also need to make changes to your DNS setup and point the configured custom domain at our service. Instructions for this will show up on the configuration page, and are listed below as well.

  • For subdomains: Create a CNAME for your custom domain name to ecp.map.fastly.net
  • For apex domains: Create an A/AAAA record for your custom domain name to 151.101.1.51, 151.101.65.51, 151.101.129.51 and 151.101.193.51

Once the DNS settings are updated, Fastly will take a couple of minutes to request a TLS certificate from Lets Encrypt, so your service is available via HTTPS as well.

If you have any questions, or run into issues with your custom domain name not getting provisioned correctly, do not hesitate to reach out to support@stellate.co and we'll get that sorted.
